Resumen:
The present work is focused on the cognitive and social manifestations of the egocentric thought of the Cognitive Development Theory of Jean Piaget, with emphasis on those that are development during the preoperational stage or stadium, along the level of basic education, preparatory sublevel; for which it was conducted a theoretical research bibliographic based on the analytical descriptive method. The work shows that the egocentric vision limits the child´s reasoning to his own thoughts, which gives rise to certain aspects that influence his way of interpreting the real world, such as curiosity and imagination; however, these characteristics represent opportunities to create learning experiences, from which one can start in the classroom for the stimulation and empowerment of capacities according to their level of cognitive development.

El presente trabajo está enfocado en las manifestaciones cognitivas y sociales del pensamiento egocéntrico de la Teoría de Desarrollo Cognoscitivo de Jean Piaget, con énfasis en aquellas que se desarrollan durante la etapa o estadio preoperacional, a lo largo del nivel de educación básica, subnivel de preparatoria; para lo cual se realizó una investigación teórica bibliográfica basada en el método analítico descriptivo. El trabajo demuestra que la visión egocéntrica limita el razonamiento del niño a sus propios pensamientos, lo cual da origen a ciertos aspectos que influyen en su manera de interpretar el mundo real, tales como la curiosidad y la imaginación; no obstante, estas características representan oportunidades para crear experiencias de aprendizaje, desde las cuales se puede partir en el aula para la estimulación y potenciación de capacidades acorde a su nivel de desarrollo cognitivo.
