Abstract

The project of an interpretation center seeks the recovery, conservation and preservation of the intangible cultural heritage representative of the Puerto Bolívar Parish, considering an educational and touristic space for future generations. Through the implementation of a didactic methodology, the aim is to capture the attention of the tourist by promoting the intangible heritage through exhibitions, development of interactive activities, and the use of technology and innovation, thus facilitating heritage education for both local and foreign tourists. This approach is mainly aimed at the community, with the purpose of developing new learning techniques, encouraging the preservation of the intangible heritage and its dissemination in a clear way for its conservation. Additionally, the design of an Interpretation Center that will contribute to promoting the protection of the culture of Puerto Bolívar, safeguarding the heritage and being recognized for its identity. In this way, we seek to strengthen the Puerto Bolívar parish at a national level, improving the experiences of visitors through the application of educational and interactive activities that will turn the center into a recreational space, using educational material and the integration of ICT. The project is based on the collection of precise information, obtained through surveys and interviews with the local community and tourists, in order to understand the current situation of the Puerto Bolívar Parish, in terms of the representation and preservation of its identity and culture, which today has generated little knowledge of it. Through interviews directed to the Municipality of Machala, we have been able to delve into the needs arise within the city, formulating in turn a solution that contributes positively to the dissemination and conservation of the identity of the community of this Puerto Bolivar.
