Diseño de espacios museográficos interactivos para fomentar el uso social del patrimonio natural y cultural de la parroquia Casacay.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to design an interactive museum space that encourages the social use of the natural and cultural heritage of the Casacay parish, highlighting the importance of heritage preservation and the promotion of sustainable tourism in the region. The research is exploratory and descriptive, with a mixed approach, using a non-experimental design and a sample of 383 participants, including residents and tourists. Data collection methods included documentary analysis, field observations, surveys and interviews, using ranking sheets provided by MINTUR, structured questionnaires and interview guides. Among the main results, archaeological sites, relevant historical elements and rich biodiversity in Casacay were identified and documented. The surveys revealed a strong interest from the local community and tourists in the creation of a museum space, while the interviews indicated that the inhabitants are willing to actively participate in the dissemination of their heritage. These findings support the hypothesis that a cultural and natural interpretation center can promote tourism and strengthen the cultural identity of the community. In conclusion, the implementation of a cultural and natural interpretation centre in Casacay has great potential to positively impact the tourism economy and the preservation of local heritage. It is recommended to integrate interactive technologies and educational activities to maximise the educational and cultural impact of the centre, ensuring a participatory and sustainable approach in its design and operation.
