La pintura y técnicas mixtas como medio importante en la reconstrucción del reflejo cultural indígena

Abstract

In the current research project "Painting and mixed techniques as an important medium in the reconstruction of the indigenous cultural reflection", the main objective is to enhance the beauty and significance of the past in the present through the indigenous face, possessors of tradition, history and a gaze that connects directly with nature, are part of our cultural diversity and build part of the reflection of the locality. Reference is made to the importance of remembrance, memories and customs still present, the Andean worldview and respect for Mother Earth. The ancestry of its people based on knowledge and experiences is a sign of the transmission of knowledge over time, an attempt to keep cultural identity alive. Since its beginnings, painting has been the means of representation of thought that captures in reality what the human being perceives, materializing graphically through the use of liquid substances and tools, as well as the subjectivity that characterizes it, mixing the technical and emotional. However, over time painting has acquired other facets that seek to expand beyond the visible and create textures, experiment with new materials, and give the work more richness in its execution. Mixed techniques bring together more than two techniques within a work, it is based on experimentation and knowledge of the particularities of each material used since some elements may not be compatible with each other, discovering the possible effects and reactions is part of the process. In the execution of the work you can find different techniques including embroidery, high relief, painting and materials that make up the discursive elements in the composition. The importance of art lies in its communicative capacity, a medium that expresses itself and transcends any barrier, be it linguistic or cultural, forming an indispensable part of society. Art strengthens the sense of questioning, development, belonging, and permanence by promoting diversity and inclusion through the free and individual expression of thought. The different realities and perceptions that make up human complexity can be transmitted and explored in art, within this space one can observe and reflect on the meanings attached to images that contrast with different cultures. From a more specific point of view, it challenges everything pre-established and normalized, creating bridges in the face of the unknown, an inner discourse that is externalized and generates responses that bring us closer to broader views and channeled towards change. In the production of the work, the portrait is used as a means of connection between the viewer and the work, since it consists of reflection to shorten the existing distance. The low relief shapes this experience both in the depth and folds as well as in the colors that are combined between a warm and cold chromatic, loading the image with symbolism, which is sustained by the idea of complementarity and not the struggle of opposites, a worldview expressed by the indigenous people and that makes up the identity of their roots.
