La fotografía artística como medio de expresión frente a la prostitución en el cantón Pasaje

Abstract

This degree work has as its theme Artistic photography as a means of expression against prostitution in the Pasaje canton, and whose objective is the development of eight photographic pieces oriented to the subject of prostitution, taking women as a fundamental character. in the work, in which the background and circumstances that sex workers live within this reality are considered and addressed. Prostitution is presented as a reality that not only exists locally but also nationally and globally, as it is a job that currently generates a lot of income, which arises from conflictive situations, such as poverty, lack of education, violence, deception, kidnapping, among others, which in turn has been generating a negative impact not only in society but also at a personal level, in bio-psycho-social factors in those women who exercise this type professional. Thus, photography has been taken as the art object for the realization of the proposal, which through the use of the image as a technique when documenting moments and situations that occur in society, has been very favorable, especially for some artists, who not only see it as a tool to capture the moment but also to propose and make known a message through an image. Thus, starting from artistic photography as the means of expression, through the use of the camera, together with the compositional elements, tonalities, and concepts such as color and chromatic psychology, photographic pieces of an artistic nature will be generated that address not only the theme proposed in the image but, in turn, these will conceptually carry a message and idea in each of the results, for which, some referents of photography are taken into account such as Man Ray, Bill Brandt, Edward Weston, Rubén García, Mayra Goded, McAndrews, among others. The composition of the photographs will be carried out creatively by the authors of the investigation, through the use of full, medium, and short-medium shots, at a normal angle and low angle for proper editing in the Adobe Photoshop program, applying tones, levels, color adjustments, light balances, shadows, etc. The photographs will be taken in A3 format, which is equal to 420 mm high x 297 mm wide, applying the concept of the three-thirds rule to the images. In addition, it will be shared on social networks, especially on the Facebook platform, in which the proposal will be aimed at the general public, to share and receive comments on the different opinions about the work carried out. The purpose of the artistic proposal is to invite the public to reflect on the issue of prostitution, knowing and understanding the reality that sex workers live, who, despite their role in society, deserve a degree of respect from people.
