Abstract

The extended family is one that brings together all the relatives and people having in common ties recognized as such, it is also considered as a dynamic system that depends a lot on the functioning among its members, thus forming the character of reciprocal cooperation and such relationships. can describe the current structure of family relationships, it is also necessary to recognize that the family is an open system, that it has a structure, what is considered the set of individuals and their interrelationships that are, the roles, the hierarchies, the rules, the limits, which are part of the same coexistence, and a functioning; which is what determines the relationship between family members based on their values and beliefs, For this reason, this research work aims to analyze the structure and functioning of the extended family based on the analysis of two cases and the bibliographic review, for the approach of interventive actions from a systemic approach. The applied methodology corresponds to a descriptive bibliographical research based on scientific articles, where the theoretical foundations of the structure and functioning of extended families were addressed, in addition, the interview technique was applied for the correct respective analysis, in such a way that It was possible to propose interventional actions in systemic family therapy with their respective techniques that mental health professionals should use.
