Geotecnia enfocada a cimentaciones de edificaciones de 3 pisos en la ciudad de Machala.

Abstract

The present study was carried out with the objective of obtaining geotechnical information from part of the south - east zone of the city of Machala, and based on such information define the appropriate technical foundation alternative for a three - story residential building. For the procedure of exploration of the soil the Ecuadorian Standard of the Construction NEC with respect to “Geotechnics and foundations” was implemented, in which it defines that for a building of three plants and according to the service loads it is necessary to analyze the soil at a depth of 6m (NEC - 2015). In general, the study covered 160 hectares, it was carried out in four sectors: “San Ramón” Citadel, land in Colón Tinoco Avenue and Alejandro Castro Benítez, “García Guillen” Citadel and “Francisco Abad Vallejo” Lotization, drilling in each mentioned sector, the four exploration points forming a polygon, this aiming to estimate the sequence of the strata of the sectors and define a georeferenced stratigraphic chart that serves to predict the type of soil existing at a certain point within the analyzed polygon. The exploration was carried out with the SPT equipment, obtaining unaltered samples during the exploration and which were tested in the laboratory. The results of the soil study showed that under these areas the land would be of the clay, silty, fine sand, with a permissible load range between 2 to 6 Ton/m2, water table between 1 and 2 m with respect to the natural soil level. Therefore, it was necessary to improve the support floor and for the foundation an orthogonal foundation beam system with one - meter footings was definitely chosen
