Abstract

Transversality as a pedagogical tool or strategy in the development of the teaching-learning process has been gaining adherents in the context of 21st century education. When it comes to the natural sciences, this trend is often much more convenient because teachers in these disciplines have more strength training for the use of the scientific method and its procedures. In this context, this descriptive research is recorded, using the method of documentary research and hermeneutics. Its overall objective is to undermine the importance of research as a cross-cutting axis to enhance the teaching-learning process in natural sciences for basic education children. In a first phase a documentary collection process is carried out through the main academic search engines (Google Academic, Scielo, Redalyc, among others). It then delves into the discussion of the main topics according to the objective proposed so, in a third part, to develop the Schematic Script through hermeneutics of the selected texts. One of the elements highlighted during the trial is the need to shore up the profile of researchers in high school students, and moreover, when it comes to examining the conception and evolution of the natural sciences. "Learning by Research" should be a recurring premise of natural science teachers for basic education children, as the various studies that have been carried out so far reinforce the thesis according to which, those who produce knowledge are more likely to understand its complexities.
