Abstract

The hybridization of audiovisual genres is a feature of modern television, which seeks innovation to generate content for the audience, on this dynamic we work worldwide on various proposals, this topic presents the present research work aimed at Identify the documentary genre as a hybrid of documentary cinema and the challenges in the film industry in Ecuador, through the qualitative method and the use of the following research techniques: documentary analysis, in-depth interview and content analysis. After processing the information collected through the different techniques used, how was the interview with three experts in the audiovisual field, also the analysis of some scientific articles and finally the analysis of the documentation So close. So far, giving as results that there is a great interest in Ecuadorian production specifically in the documentary genre, especially those that show interculturality in Latin America, but to become recognized within the Ecuadorian and international industry, this genre must improve construction narrative of the scripts, and even create writing labs and thus reach competitive circuits of festivals or competitive funds, to get the attention of the masses.
