Autoestima y habilidades sociales en un estudiante universitario con discapacidad física motora

Abstract

The present research work has as an object of study the physical-motor disability from the point of view of analysis variables such as self-esteem and social skills. Emphasizing that physical motor disability is a condition that limits the function of the limbs and organs of a person, generating a physical restriction. In this research the following problem question is posed. What is the influence that physical motor disability has on the self-esteem and social skills of a university student The general objective of this research is to analyze the influence that the physical-motor disability has on the self-esteem and social skills of a university student. The development of the research is based on the qualitative paradigm and focuses on the search for answers to social phenomena. With a descriptive approach due to its detailed writing with the purpose of making known a case of interest. The instruments used for the collection of information are, semi-structured interviews and the COOPERSMITH self-esteem scale. After analyzing the results obtained, it was concluded that in a clear and definitive way the physical-motor disability has a significant influence on self-esteem, presenting low levels in categories of self and in relation to his family, on the other hand, in social skills presents limitations in social interaction and in the ability to communicate effectively, therefore, the implementation of strategies that favor the strengthening of self-esteem and improve the social interaction of the student is suggested.
