Medidas diagnosticas y tratamiento adecuado para la obstrucción mecánica de vía aérea por cuerpo extraño

Abstract

Mechanical obstruction of the airway is presented as a common problem that has not been studied in its entirety to date. Therefore, it is of vital importance to guide the medical personnel as well as the non-medical personnel towards the knowledge and management of this condition. The success to avoid any type of airway obstruction depends on the prevention, education and timely management, by means of a correct treatment according to the severity and the consequences produced to produce such as cerebral hypoxia. General Objective: Establish diagnostic measures and adequate treatment for mechanical obstruction of the airway. Methodology: The methodology used is based on the following aspects: 1) locating the search engines that allowed finding the scientific articles, 2) searching for the documents by means of key words, 3) the period of time in which they were published is skewed, as well as the types of articles downloaded, 4) The impact and prestige of scientific journals belonging to quartiles 1 and 2 (Q1 and Q2) was verified. Conclusions: This project concludes that at the time of presenting mechanical airway obstruction the appropriate therapeutic intervention that is most frequently used to solve this problem is the Heimlich maneuver since this method is the most effective and practical against an emergency situation
