La pantalla digital y sus alteraciones visuales

Abstract

Introduction: The electronic devices that contain digital screen are those that transmit waves of emission of LED light, according to high definition but with intensity that when crossing the retina simultaneously affects the visual function, known in a new denomination as digital visual syndrome. Objective: To identify the adequate time in front of the digital screen, for the visual effects that they will produce, by means of the analysis of scientific articles indexed in the last 5 years, for contribution towards the first level of care doctor. Method: A systematic review of scientific articles indexed in virtual journals published within the last 5 years was applied; these journals or web pages are: Scielo, PUBMED, COCRHANE, DIALNET, MEDLINE, and, Scopus. We have identified about 24 articles that meet the proposed theme connecting them by the application of Mendeley, to be processed are duly cited with Vancouver standards. Conclusion: That the estimated time is enough to leave damages that affect visual function is 30 hours during the week or an average of 4 hours a day. Among the most important effects are: cataracts, diplopia, red eye syndrome, eye strain, eye fatigue, dry eye, myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
