Abstract

Introduction: Hospital discharge establishes an important phase in health, which provides relevant and personalized information to the care that a person should receive at home by himself or by his caregiver, whether these types of treatments are: non-pharmaceuticals, medications , type of diet, among others. Since aspiration pneumonia is a pathology that occurs frequently in elderly patients who are hospitalized, the cause of this disease is due to the inhalation of chemical or physical agents, or it is also caused by the aspiration of gastric contents, when there is no correct swallowing. Objective: To determine the importance of the discharge plan in an elderly patient with aspiration pneumonia through theoretical argumentation and the elaboration of a nursing care plan in elderly patients.
