Evaluación psicológica en adultos mayores: caso clínico, duelo patológico.

Abstract

Psychological assessment and psychodiagnosis have been methods used since ancient times and have allowed the development of various techniques that over time helped health professionals to evaluate and make diagnoses, for this reason in this paper the concepts of psychological assessment and psychodiagnosis focused on old age are presented in a theoretical way, In addition, a clinical case in which tools such as observation, critical and interpretative in-depth interview and analysis of experiences were used, including also the review of diagnostic manuals along with the application of the Complicated Grief Inventory (IDC) adapted to Spanish, with which a diagnosis of pathological grief was corroborated. The affectation of this disorder covers emotional and social areas and can even interfere in a somatic way, which causes low quality of life in the individual, therefore, the importance of having sources of family support and strengthened internal resources is emphasized.
