Abstract

The Kumon method is an educational approach that focuses on self-directed and progressive learning in the field of mathematics. Additionally, it enhances the personal abilities of each student through autonomous learning with personalized plans. In this method, the teacher observes and understands the abilities of each student, guiding them with materials or formulas. Consequently, this increases their level of motivation and autonomy, enabling the student to progress in their learning regardless of their school level. The present research work addresses the need to analyze the problem of low logical thinking among students, which occurs in educational institutions, directly influencing the development of logical thinking. Therefore, the aim of this study is to establish the strategies currently used by teachers for the development of logical thinking in mathematics in middle school, at the 'Santísimos Corazones' Educational Unit in the Pasaje canton, during the period 2023-2024. To achieve the stated general objective, the methodology used in the execution of the work was diverse. Initially, a quantitative-qualitative research approach was adopted, due to the use of data collection tools, synthesis, and respective analyses.
