Abstract

The present research work is based on the realization of a systematization of experiences on the role of the social worker in the medical management for older adults participating in the social projects of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Huaquillas canton in the period 2021-II, with the objective main to determine the lack of information on the role of the social worker as a health care manager through the application of a survey as a quantitative technique aimed at older adults, Therefore, it was hypothesized to know if there was misinformation about the social worker role as manager of medical care for older adults. The type of research used was mixed with the cross-sectional deductive methodology of dialectical approach with positive scope, for which the interview was taken as a qualitative technique and the survey as a quantitative technique, using the first applying a semi-structured interview based on a questionnaire being applied to a social worker of the GAD Huaquillas and later the aforementioned technique was applied to relatives of the elderly with a questionnaire, the second technique was applied to 50 older adults.
