Enfoque educativo sobre la utilización del software libre como recurso didáctico en la profesión docente.

Abstract

The teacher as a professional must be empowered by new technological trends so as not to depend on third parties. Free software offers a variety of applications that do not depend on cost, but rather that it is zero and must be incorporated into university classrooms. Ecuador maintains the decree 1014 of Use of free software to encourage the practice of this tool and allow the participation of professionals and in a special way in those new teachers who try to create new collaborative environments in the private and public sectors; in order to build an educational approach based on the incorporation of educational technology. The general objective of the study identifies the importance of using free software as a technological resource and incorporating it into the university chair. The methodology is based on a qualitative and qualitative documentary model and bibliographic research. There is evidence of a lack of knowledge of Free Software because its use is not popular, being an alternative for teachers and students at the University Technical of Machala to adopt this new information technology and its relevance.
