Evaluación del Proceso de Atención de Enfermería en un Hospital Obstétrico

Abstract

Introduction: The nursing care process is a practical, dynamic method designed to facilitate personalized care for nursing staff, identifying the problems and needs of the individual, family, and community. Objective: To evaluate the level of knowledge of the nursing care process of the nurses of the Obstetric Hospital. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, where quantitative techniques were used, applying a survey to 80 nursing professionals who work in the Maternal and Child area of the Obstetric Hospital of the city of Pasaje, Ecuador. Results: 93.8% of the studied population were female, and the same percentage corresponds to collaborators with a third level of education; 64% reported knowing the nursing care process, 61.2% correctly identified the stages of the PAE, and finally 74% defined the nursing care process with certainty. Conclusions: The studied personnel were mostly women, with a third level of education, the majority have knowledge of the nursing care process, as well as the stages it covers, and the concept to which it refers.
