Propuesta de una ruta turística minera para fomentar el valor de las riquezas minerales, culturales y patrimoniales de Portovelo.

Abstract

Valuing the mineral, cultural, and heritage riches that the Portovelo canton possesses is a fundamental part of preserving the identity of this place, as the interest in mining activity has been declining. For this reason, the main purpose of this project is to create a mining tourism route that allows discovering the unique characteristics of the canton and, at the same time, promoting the appreciation of cultural heritage. The mixed method approach is applied in the methodology, which consists of using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, with the application of different research methods that allow us to obtain the expected results. The route includes visits to places that have a great history about what mining was, making this canton considered the first mining center in Ecuador.
