Abstract

The family is the basic school of each individual, the first social environment, the base of values and where the first learnings are presented through parents or caregivers, as such it plays a role in the integral development of each member that makes it up. . This work is proposed through a systemic guideline and the analysis of two cases that allow us to understand the individual as a family and not a unique being, where the dysfunction of one of the members can significantly affect the others. Over the years, the family structure may vary, among the most common we have nuclear, extended, single-parent families and separated parents. The family system can be functional or dysfunctional, where the presence of psycho-emotional factors is necessary, such as communication, as a means of manifesting limits, norms and rules; and affectivity, where affective ties occupy one of the first levels in the system, in addition to promoting mutual respect and understanding, these factors are dispensable for proper functioning and good development, otherwise there is the risk of producing alterations that may impact on present or future pathological manifestations in family members. Through the bibliographic review and the analysis of the cases to be presented, it was possible to corroborate and identify the functionality of the family system, where it was concluded that in both cases there is an impairment caused by the imbalance of the family during the different stages of the family life cycle .
