Abstract

Pressure ulcers are lesions that compromise integumentary integrity, ranging from skin damage to deep tissue alterations, the main cause being prolonged pressure between two bone planes, contributing factors such as immobility, urinary or fecal incontinence, as well as sensory perception. The objective is to describe nursing care for pressure ulcers based on Betty Neuman's theory. Being the methodology of descriptive and analytical type, because the most relevant clinical data is observed, detailed and analyzed. Among the results identified we have that, according to Betty Neuman, primary, secondary and tertiary prevention interventions were identified, and together with these it is determined in tertiary prevention, those care used in the patient gave positive results and the presence of new lesions was not evidenced. , even reducing infections; An improvement in quality of life was also demonstrated by the patient and family.
