Manejo diagnóstico y terapéutico actualizado de la enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica: presentación de caso clínico

Abstract

Abstract Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease COPD has become a major cause of death worldwide, in our country Ecuador represents the ninth cause of death with 26,248 deaths since 2014, This disease is characterized by limitation of airflow in the respiratory tract and has as main symptom productive cough and dyspnea which is common within respiratory system conditions, because of this it is very important to be aware of its diagnostic approach and to allow us to differentiate it from other pathologies in a correct way, in this research study a clinical case with characteristics similar to those of a patient with COPD was presented and it was requested to establish the diagnostic and therapeutic behavior in this patient, Therefore, we proceeded to perform a clinical analysis supported in the theoretical bases with scientific evidence in the management of this pathology, throughout its development there were limitations with respect to the information referred to in the case, for this reason a purely clinical diagnosis was made that concluded in the finding of a patient with juvenile COPD which was staged according to its severity and symptomatology and then establish the most appropriate therapeutic management with respect to its condition, the treatment consisted of pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures leaving aside the surgical interventions and the palliative management since this patient did not merit it, in this way it was possible to answer the question raised in this work.
