Valoración del patrimonio minero en el contexto del turismo del cantón Portovelo, provincia de El Oro.

Abstract

Mining is one of the best sources of income for the canton of Portovelo, but there are few studies on the valuation of the mining heritage in this place, therefore, it is the main reason for this work. In addition, it seeks to expose the history of the canton, mining, infrastructure, customs and traditions. The main objective is to value the mining heritage in the context of tourism in the Portovelo canton, El Oro province, through a bibliographic research and on-site visit. For this reason, we have used a quantitative and qualitative methodology, using methods such as: deductive, inductive, historical, descriptive, observational and bibliographic. The conclusions of this research are in relation to value the mining heritage that is found in the canton and is not aware of the wealth they have, attributing a good alternative to contribute to tourism in the site. Finally, it is proposed the elaboration of a digital magazine available to the public with the information compiled in this research.
