Abstract

This research project proposes the design of an agro-tourism route at Granja San Juan in Cantón Chilla as a strategy to promote local development and strengthen rural tourism. Through a contextual analysis, the strengths and weaknesses of the sector were identified, as well as opportunities to improve the tourism offering by integrating agricultural, livestock, and ecological activities. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and a SWOT analysis to assess the feasibility of the project. The results indicate a significant level of interest from the population in implementing this route, as it would contribute to the economic growth of the community, create jobs, and promote the conservation of natural and cultural heritage. The proposal includes a structured itinerary, interactive activities, and promotional strategies to attract tourists. It is concluded that the development of this agro-tourism route represents a sustainable alternative for the tourism potential of Cantón Chilla, promoting a model of responsible and sustainable tourism.
