Abstract

Ecuador is one of the countries that have exuberant natural richness and cultural diversity, all of its provinces have stories to tell and their cantons had knowledge to transmit. But with technology, the influence of globalization and the insufficient valorization on the ancestral knowledge, these have been in disappear danger. Ignorance of manners and traditions is a very serious social and cultural problem in nowadays society that needs to be prevented. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze what factors affect the loss of the manners and traditions of Marcabelí canton, using the interview methodology to collect information directly from the source, and finally developed strategies that help prevent this issue.
