Abstract

This project is a study of the socio-environmental diagnosis, which presents the problem about the controls of the existing fruit plantations in the Portovelo canton, the community of this canton being directly affected, since they consume food that is unknown. their origin and the level of contaminants they have inside. During the visit to the Portovelo canton, we proceed to locate the plantations near a body of water, obtaining as a result a worrying situation, and it was to find fruit plantations next to the Yellow River, since, when making a river tour Above, based on the Google Earth app, it was possible to demonstrate the existence of beneficiation plants that serve for the processes of obtaining gold, and mining material. The plantation selected for this study is the Cuban papaya carica papaya L. since, it is a fruit that contains a high level of liquid inside, and requires large amounts of water for irrigation. It was identified that the liquid that is used for the irrigation of these plantations, does not come directly from the Yellow River, but through a filtration of the soil that reaches a reservoir, where to execute the process, a pump that transfers the water is used to an elevated tank, and there it enters a drip irrigation system, so that each plant has the same dose of water from the reservoir.
