Sostenibilidad ambiental de la pesquería del pulpo común octopus mimus en la reserva marina isla Santa Clara, El Oro, Ecuador

Abstract

In this integrating project, the fishing and capture zone, the fishing effort and registered vessels for the capture and collection of the common octopus marine resource in the Santa Clara Marine Reserve in the province of El Oro are identified. Statistical analysis was carried out of the fishing logs of the octopus resource in the Santa Clara Island Marine Reserve from 2014 to 2018, which were provided by the Ministry of the Environment. Technical visits were also made to the area for the georeferencing of the resource extraction area within the protected area. Likewise, interviews were held with the president of the Chulluype Ballenita Artisanal Fishing Association Mrs. María Calle Chacón and representatives of the artisanal fishing associations of the province of El Oro.
