Actualización del manejo integral del evento cerebrovascular isquémico en pacientes diabéticos e hipertensos

Abstract

The ischemic cerebrovascular event is one of the pathologies with the highest mortality rates and causes a significant impact on the lifestyle of the patients and high expenses on the part of the health system. This pathology has as its main risk factor diseases such as diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension, within the etiologies by which it occurs we can highlight atherothrombotic and atherosclerotic disease of large vessel, cardioembolic and occlusive disease of small vessel lacunar infarction, in recent years the diagnostic processes and treatment have advanced and are in constant research and change, for this reason this study is responsible for carrying out a current review on the comprehensive assessment of the ischemic cerebrovascular event in diabetic and hypertensive patients taking research sources from digital repositories such as Scopus and PubMed. Thus, the indications for comprehensive evaluation from diagnosis and prehospital management to fibrinolysis treatment and subsequent rehabilitation are presented as a result.
