Abstract
The agricultural sector is one of the main economic sources in Ecuador, whit the shrimp sector standing out as the most important production industry, generating the highest rate of unemployment and economy in the country. Ecuador has been one of the world’s largest exporters of this shellfish for several years, however, not everything has been favorable for the crustacean due to limitations such as diseases that directly affect the animal (white spot), the price of shrimp existing and lack of support from the government.

El sector agropecuario es una de las principales fuentes económicas en el Ecuador, destacándose el sector camaronero como la industria más importante de producción, siendo generador de la mayor tasa desempleo y economía en el país. Ecuador ha sido uno de los mayores exportadores a nivel mundial de este marisco durante varios años, sin embargo, no todo se ha visto favorable para el crustáceo debido a limitantes como las enfermedades que afectan directamente al animal (macha blanca), el precio del camarón existente y falta de apoyo por parte del gobierno.
