Abstract

Aging not only involves obvious physical changes but also cognitive and emotional alterations. Upon reaching old age, people go through significant changes due to aging. One of the most frequent conditions at this stage is cognitive decline, whose main symptom is memory loss. Therefore, in this research the following problem is posed: ¿What characteristics does the lifestyle and executive functions present in an older adult with memory difficulties? For this reason, the general objective is to analyze the characteristics that the lifestyle and executive functions present in an older adult with memory difficulties. To address the case, various tools were used that facilitated the analysis and interpretation of the data, among them the Neuropsi neuropsychological evaluation test, the Lifestyle Profile Questionnaire (PEPS-I), and an observation guide, where ítems for both variables were obtained. These instruments allowed for knowledge of both the lifestyle and the executive functions of the older adult with memory difficulty who has been evaluated. The results obtained reveal that he leads an unhealthy lifestyle, characterized by poor emotional regulation, a disorganized and unbalanced eating pattern, as well as the absence of physical activity. In relation to executive functions, Severe Impairment was recorded, showing difficulties in processing speed, memory, and attention, affecting the well being and performance of the older adult in his daily life.
