El rol de la universidad en la recuperación post-pandemia de las pymes de la ciudad de Machala.

Abstract

Higher education institutions are not only limited to academic activities, which seek the transmission and application of knowledge, but are conceived as entities that are truly committed to the social and economic development of the regions. The general objective of the research is: To analyze the role that the university has in the post-pandemic recovery of SMEs through the linking of the sectors and their economic and social analysis to achieve economic reactivation. The methodology applied to the research is qualitative, quantitative and non-experimental. The population to which this research is directed are the companies of the city of Machala, duly established, according to information from the Internal Revenue Service. It is important to strengthen the links between universities and the business sector, especially with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), because although due to their structure these companies are better adapted to the environment in which they operate, it is not entirely true that the pandemic caused by Covid 19 has affected the productive sector at all levels, so the support of the academy through programs with social bonding and training will be essential. In the conclusions of this report, it is clear that the crisis has strengthened the role and protagonism of small and medium-sized enterprises. In this way, it raises the need to consolidate the ethical climate created in the face of the crisis, strengthening sustainability, organizational resilience and flexibility.
