Abstract
Los criterios tomográficos de Balthazar están dirigidos a clasificar la gravedad de la enfermedad más que el diagnostico primario de la pancreatitis aguda, La realización de una Tomografía antes de las 48 horas de evolución desde el inicio de la enfermedad, tiende a infravalorar la gravedad del cuadro, el momento idóneo de su realización es entre las 48 y 72 horas. La tomografía y por ende los criterios de Balthazar están indicados en el diagnóstico de la enfermedad solo en los casos de diagnóstico dudoso, por ligera o nula elevación enzimática en suero, o en los casos de gravedad clínica en ausencia de dolor abdominal.
Description
Balthazar tomographic criteria are intended to classify the severity of the disease rather than the primary diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. Performing a scan before 48 hours from the onset of the disease, it tends to underestimate the severity of symptoms, the best moment of its realization is between 48 and 72 hours. Tomography and therefore Balthazar criteria are indicated in the diagnosis of the disease only in cases of uncertain diagnosis, however slight or no serum enzyme levels, or in cases of clinical severity in the absence of abdominal pain.
