Elaboración de extracto acuoso de bougainvillea glabra choisy.

Abstract

For the resolution of the present bibliographic research, the descriptive method and the analytical research technique were used, where information about Bougainvillea glabra choisy was compiled, through the revision, analysis and synthesis of scientific articles related to its pharmacological properties, as well as its chemical structure, mainly flavonoids and betalaines, and also the technique to elaborate the aqueous extract and the method to identify antioxidant activity. To evaluate the quality of both the vegetable raw material and the aqueous extract, the Cuban regulation NRSP 309 (1992) and Miranda and Cuellar (2000) are considered. The percolation method is proposed for the preparation of the extract. And to identify the antioxidant activity of the plant material and extract, the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical) method is suggested, thus fulfilling the proposed objective, which was to establish a procedure for the elaboration of an antioxidant aqueous extract of the referred plant species, to be used as a nutritional supplement.
