Abstract

The present research work, which was proposed with the interest of analyzing what is the didactic process and the pedagogical practices that teachers must carry out and carry out within the initial education classrooms in the initiation to literacy in high school children. It is an investigative study that was carried out through a purely bibliographic-documentary methodology, for which the bibliographic review of primary sources (scientific articles and theses) related to the topic of literacy and how this process is carried out in the initiation was prioritized. of the same by the teacher, without neglecting the needs of the students and the responsibility of the parent; since, this is not done naturally or spontaneously as was believed, but on the contrary, it takes a lot of work to develop it from early childhood. Some authors agree that a good introduction to reading and writing is a fundamental part for the acquisition of knowledge in the different cognitive areas, but for this, joint work between the different educational actors must be carried out, as well as the commitment of the teacher and his constant updating of knowledge, since the educator is the transmitting bridge so that the child can successfully achieve the comprehensive development of reading and writing skills, solidifying as a basis for the student's adaptation in different social contexts; so it could be ensured that enhancing reading and writing skills from an early age is an essential part of the teacher's work.
