Atención de enfermería en una paciente adulto mayor con diagnostico de tumor maligno de ovario basado en la teoría de Jean Watson

Abstract

Introduction: Ovarian tumors, represent a group of frequent gynecological pathologies worldwide, these can be of benign or malignant configuration. Malignant pathology accounts for 5% of all cases, representing the third place of gynecological pathologies and being the second cause of death from cancer, so its approach must be comprehensive and rapid detection for patients to receive treatment in an adequate period. On average, they are diagnosed at the age of 65 years, their evolution is progressive, and their mortality rate is between 68-75%. Objective: To develop a case study in an older adult patient diagnosed with malignant ovarian tumor according to Jean Watson's model in order to improve her quality of life. Method: The present study is based on the analysis of a clinical case with the use of scientific, analytical and descriptive method, through the implementation of research tools such as the review of clinical history documents, direct observation, interview and the bibliographic use of journals and articles available in high impact scientific platforms such as: Scielo, Elseiver, Pubmed, among others, complying with the required legal aspects and bioethical principles. Results: Through direct observation and structured interview, the care plan was applied according to the NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomy, which allowed improving the patient's clinical conditions. Conclusion: the continuous assessment of the nursing staff with real emphasis on the application of Jean Watson's model in order to identify those altered functional patterns, to focus on these areas, the nursing care and thus improve the patient's quality of life.
