Abstract
La hipertensión arterial (HTA) es considerada como el primer factor de riesgo cardiovascular en el adulto mayor. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia e identificar la comorbilidad de la HTA en los adultos mayores en el área de clínica del Hospital Teófilo Dávila por un período de 2 años. El tipo de estudio descriptivo – retrospectivo. A nivel mundial la prevalencia de la HTA en pacientes geriátricos es del 60 % y en éste estudio fue de 36%

The arterial Hypertension (HTA) it is considered as the first factor of cardiovascular risk in the biggest adult. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence and to identify the comorbidity of the HTA in the biggest adults in the area of clinic of the Teófilo Dávila for a two year-old period. The type of descriptive study - retrospective. At World level the prevalence of the HTA in patient geriatrics is of 60% and in this study was 36%
