dc.descriptionLos adultos mayores son más susceptibles a tener más de una enfermedad, debido a esto son prescritos por más de un medicamento para su tratamiento farmacológico, lo que podría llevar al uso de polimedicación con el consecuente incremento de reacciones adversas e interacciones farmacológicas, aumentado de este modo el riesgo de empeoramiento de la salud del paciente. Lo antes expuesto se ha convertido en un problema en los distintos niveles asistenciales y espacios médicos. Se presenta un caso clínico de un paciente diabético y de riesgo cardiovascular elevado con sintomatología de mareos, sudoración, temblores, debilidad e incapacidad para pensar con claridad. Por lo cual se planteó como objetivo general analizar las causas asociadas a la descompensación del paciente geriátrico, mediante la revisión del tratamiento farmacoterapéutico indicado, brindando posibles intervenciones y medidas no farmacológicas para la mejora de su salud.es_ES
dc.description.abstractOlder adults are more susceptible to having more than one disease, due to this they are prescribed more than one medication for their pharmacological treatment, which could lead to the use of polypharmacy with the consequent increase in adverse reactions and pharmacological interactions, increased in this the risk of worsening the patient's health. The aforementioned has become a problem in the different care levels and medical spaces. A clinical case of a diabetic patient with high cardiovascular risk with symptoms of dizziness, sweating, tremors, weakness and inability to think clearly is presented. Therefore, the general objective was to analyze the causes associated with the decompensation of the geriatric patient, through the review of the indicated pharmacotherapeutic treatment, providing possible interventions and non-pharmacological measures to improve their healthes_ES
