Análisis del sector manufacturero y su aporte al pib del Ecuador durante el periodo 2018 y 2022.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry represents the secondary sector of the countries' economy. The general objective of the research is: Determine the contribution of the manufacturing sector to Ecuador's GDP during the period 2018 – 2022. The research follows a quantitative descriptive and longitudinal methodological approach. Descriptive analyzes are used to understand the basic characteristics of the data, using reliable sources such as INEC and other formal reports. The research results indicate a notable recovery and strength of the manufacturing sector following the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the sector experienced GDP growth of 3.1%, reflecting a significant recovery, and this positive trend is expected to continue in 2022 with an estimated growth of 2.4%. Overall, total GDP grew by 4.2% in 2021, with a growth projection of 2.8% for 2022, signaling a solid economic recovery and stability. This sector has also had a positive impact on the economy, with a 9.6% increase in sales with VAT and a 21.6% increase in tax collections during the first half of 2022, compared to the same period from the previous year. Furthermore, confidence in the manufacturing sector is reflected in the increase in the share of the banking portfolio, with an increase of 3.44% in the private banking portfolio and 23.41% in the public banking portfolio, demonstrating the relevance of financing for the manufacturing industry.
