Abstract

The Ecuadorian textile sector has had a representative growth in recent years which has allowed companies in this area to diversify their textile production, so certain companies choose to import fabrics from neighboring countries to offer products according to the demands of their customers. At the time of importation, transportation takes on a great importance given that this means is relevant in each import operation, becoming a variable that improves the levels of competitiveness of companies in the markets. The main objective of the work that was to describe the role played by international transport in the import process was met: Case. Textile company that imports fabrics from Colombia, evidencing the current situation and identifying the internal and external factors that influence imports. For the development a descriptive investigation is used with a method of literary review in scientific journals, official pages among others, and resolution of a practical case. It was determined that the most optimal transport for the import of jeans fabric from Colombia is land transportation because it is more convenient in terms of arrival time, speed, capacity, safety and lower freight and insurance costs.
