Diagnóstico situacional turístico en la Isla San Gregorio perteneciente al Cantón Santa Rosa

Abstract

San Gregorio Island is located in the Province of El Oro, specifically in the Santa Rosa canton, it is a place full of tourist potential, however, it has taken several years for it to begin to develop touristically and to open the doors of its environment to all kinds of tourists. This island offers a landscape full of peace, with a charming sea and vegetation that attracts tourists at first sight, the correct management and use of resources will allow San Gregorio to become a key point in the Orense and Ecuadorian tourism. For this reason, the main objective of this project is to elaborate a situational diagnosis and identify the barriers to tourism potential that condition the development of this island. Thus, for the present study the methodology used is the descriptive method, allowing for the collection of information through the application of different data collection instruments such as the hierarchy card, surveys and interviews; with a direct observation approach, which allowed to know the current situation of the site. The results showed that there are positive and negative aspects of the elements of the tourism system that condition the tourism development of San Gregorio Island.
