Abstract

The results of this bibliographical research focus on highlighting the importance of preformulation studies based on the use of propolis to design a solid pharmaceutical form that generates a significant impact on health benefits and at the same time is of great interest in the community. scientific and social due to the current growth manifested by the considerable increase in patents for products based on this active ingredient, globally. It should be noted that the development of methods to establish quality are still in the research phase, considering the great diversity of existing propolis and its pharmacological properties. It is evident and essential the need for additional tests and to investigate in greater depth the therapeutic effects considering the diversity of its composition, and compatibility in the presence of other components and excipients that interact in the formulation, design, bioavailability, to obtain a product of quality, safety and efficacy.
