Errores de prescripción en la práctica médica

Abstract

Introduction: Prescription errors in medical prescriptions are a common problem in the hospital environment that lead to patient injuries. The current regulations of Ecuador offer instructions for the preparation of a medical prescription, for its correct preparation and in order to protect patients, I also create sanctions for professionals who cause harm or injury to the patient will be punished with prison and the years will depend on the severity of the injury. Objective: This work compares regulations, actions and articles related to the most common and most aggravating errors for the patient when preparing the medical prescription. Methodology: the search for scientific information was carried out in databases and bibliographic search engines such as Pudmed, Elsevier, BMC and Ebsco, published in the last 5 years. Conclusions: With a high percentage of prescription errors in all the countries analyzed, the most common is the illegibility of the prescriptions, and the mistake when prescribing antibiotics in vulnerable patients, so the use of technological systems created for the hospital environment would help. to follow the Ministry of Health standards, reducing the rate of prescription errors, and improving the understanding of the prescriptions by the patient, thus improving the results of the treatment.
