Ambiente virtual de aprendizaje para potenciar la retroalimentación de la asignatura de inglés en octavo grado de educación general básica

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the educational institution "Kichwakunapak Amauta Yachai" located in the city of Machala, province of El Oro, thanks to the collaboration of the teacher who teaches English and the students of the 8th year of EGB of parallel "A". The educational centers were pressured to close their doors for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, changing from a face-to-face education to a purely virtual one. For this reason, training sessions were held for teachers, so that they could help students understand and become involved in the new educational environment and at the same time develop skills with which they could face a new society involved in TIC. In this way, the main objective of this research is to identify the advantages of implementing a virtual learning environment to promote feedback and optimization of content in 8th grade students, in order to strengthen the knowledge acquired in advance in the subject of English. For this purpose, qualitative and quantitative approaches were used, which allowed us to apply instruments such as pretest and post-test (interview and surveys) directed to an established population of 33 students of 8th year EGB and to the English teacher. On the other hand, the development of the prototype was carried out with the PACIE methodology, since it provides characteristics that collaborate in the construction of an AVA, thus allowing the implementation of several tools, and thus meet the needs to apply the prototype created. According to the analysis and based on the data collection instruments designed, it was possible to identify that the implemented offer achieved positive results for the application of the prototype. It should be emphasized that the students were very attentive to the activities, this thanks to the interactive tools integrated in the AVA, which allowed them to interact and provide feedback on the knowledge, thus fulfilling the objectives proposed in the research. In abstract, the research obtained favorable results where the effectiveness of the prototype is proven, in addition to the appreciation and approval by the teacher of the English subject and the students of 8th grade EGB, in addition to this, some possible improvements were identified in the form of recommendations for the future, with which we seek to improve the AVA. In addition, within the VPA, digital resources, online activities and presentations were included with the class topics established in the planning of the subject, these resources were placed in such a way that favored the dynamism and interactivity so that students could reinforce the knowledge and thus take full advantage of the capacity of the tools and resources that facilitated the design of the prototype. Among the conclusions, it was possible to identify that the digital tools that were selected to carry out the feedback of the subject, assisted to a great extent to the reinforcement of knowledge, which was favorable for the research.
