Intervención del trabajador social con adultos mayores en situación de calle en el casco central de Machala, 2022.

Abstract

The present research work aims to define the strategies of intervention of the Social Work profesional in relation to the social question of Elderly in a Street situation, research that focused its study in the Central Center of Machala, as an initial point for defining intervention strategies, research was carried out in the field of study in order to gather information that would serve as a basis for formulating the intervention proposal. For this the research was directed by the qualitative approach, in order to determine the causes of the steet situation, as well as the level of vulnerabiblity and risk situations exposed to older persons, in addition to the process, observation techniques and structured interview were applied, to gather truthful information, which were applied to the study population. As a result of the study carried out, it is concluded that this problem is multicausal, that is to say that it depends a lot on responsability that evades the family as the breach of the duty of the State in the execution of programs and projects aimed at this population group, base on the results obtained, the awareness of the community about the problem as a preventive function and the identification of the needs of the Elderly in a Street situation as a research function were proposed as intervention strategies based on the functions of the Social Worker.
