Abstract

The objective of this qualitative research is to determine the causes and effects of abandonment of children and adolescents. Taking as a starting point that abandonment is a reality that is impossible not to take into account in society. It is a phenomenon that appears in different times and places, and many children and adolescents do not have a family environment that provides them with the necessary conditions to grow up healthy within a functional family. Abandonment is an attitude of negligence and neglect of adults to the little ones and is observed in the lack of food, clothing, personal hygiene, medical care and housing, disinterest in everything related to their education, and also includes exposing children to generate violence, this project is conducted in order to adults especially parents know the case of child abandonment and think very well what is reality you want for your life. Starting from this problem, it is fundamental to intervene in the reality that the children of the center are going through, which, in turn, can serve as a basis to explore possible alternative solutions. We have considered this issue important because of its impact on the social, institutional and family environment, and to know that it is a problem present in our society. On the other hand, to intervene with children in situations of abandonment, three key tools of the social worker are needed. The first is the social diagnosis, which will help us to know the problem and at the same time complement it with the diagnostic cycle that will determine research, assessment and evaluation, to this is added the tools or instruments that the social worker uses, for example, the interview, observation, survey. In this way, the professional will be able to obtain a final collection of the most relevant data of the problem, which will lead to the second activity, the intervention plan is divided into the proposal, here we talk about what we want and why we are going to do it. VIII Then come the activities that will help to determine the way they are going to influence and the resources to be used, the chronogram helps us to detail the time of the tasks, either in the short, medium or long term and finally the budget that will detail all the personal expenses involved in the intervention plan. Afterwards, the intervention plan and the corresponding activities were carried out, it was possible to obtain a great acceptance on the part of the children in a situation of abandonment, from the same form it is possible to synthesize the information for the people who are interested in supporting this welcome center. Finally, it is recommended to intervene with children and adolescents in a situation of abandonment, for this we will take as a sample one of the families residing in the Canton Pasaje, Ciudadela Jesús Buen Pastor, starting from there we can send premises that contribute to the research and facilitate our growth as future social workers
