Abstract

Pregnancy in adolescence or early pregnancy is one that occurs in the early ages of development, from puberty, begins with the physical change that turns the girl into an adult capable of sexual reproduction, the majority of adolescent pregnancies They are considered unwanted pregnancies and are caused by the beginning of sexual life or the practice of sexual relations without adequate protection and the correct use of contraceptive methods. Consider that adolescents are fertile before they are emotionally mature. The present investigative work carried out in the Basic Hospital Maria Lorena Serrano of the El Guabo canton approached the thematic role of the Social Worker in the orientation of responsibilities of pregnancy in adolescent patients of the health establishment with a population of 100, of which they worked with a representative sample of 35, applying direct intervention techniques and tools between the object and the subject studied in the degree work. It is important to take into account that within our country we find alarming figures where 2 out of 10 women who are pregnant are adolescents, a problem that affects the daily development in the life of a young pregnant woman. The objective of the thesis is aimed at identifying the role played by the prevention of pregnancy in adolescents through the documentary review of bibliographic sources in relation to the established problem in order to highlight the intervention strategies of the Social Worker within the area of health. It should be noted that the causes for which many of the adolescents are pregnant at an early age are due to poor family relationships and the discovery of them, family problems and the disorientation they have had when trying to prevent pregnancy. since they do not see it as an important topic of conversation within their environment. The performance of the Department of Social Work in the face of this problem includes activities of accompaniment, orientation and management of resources with the use of techniques and work tools such as the application of the interview and observation to rule out possible potential risks that endanger the development of the stage of his adolescence. Thus, the present work focuses on highlighting the importance of the role played by the Social Worker in the area of health working with adolescent patients who are pregnant and at the same time in its prevention with expert professionals in the area. with the purpose of reducing the rate of pregnancies in young people and reducing the taboo that still exists in the families of the patients. Finally, this research work seeks to take measures regarding the existing problem of pregnancy at an early age since it affects an entire population; In this context, it is necessary to apply strategies aimed at prevention and care by addressing issues of sexuality.
