Análisis de las potencialidades para el desarrollo del turismo comunitario en la parroquia Uzhcurrumi perteneciente al cantón Pasaje.

Abstract

Tourism evolution has caused the rise of new models that go far from the typical superficial experience in a destiny. The new models go beyond, the tourist doesn´t only look for the beauty and services anymore but rather the history and what makes the place so special and unique. In this premise community tourism is born, giving the tourist the chance to, during their stay, know the customs, traditions and the life style of the community that lives there. Despite the fact that is a relatively new model, it is possible to find some sites in Ecuador that already work with it, and that have been successful. In these places the economic, social and cultural aspects are just some of the few that have improved since the community tourism was applied. Pasaje, a state of the El Oro province, is one of the most well-known places for its marvelous and incredible natural beauty and tourist attractions. Some of the most important are located in Uzhcurrumi parish, highlighting the adventure and nature aspects that make it perfect for the lovers of these kind of attractions. Nevertheless, the parish has a great potential to develop other touristic models, community tourism being one of them. However, it has not been possible to develop it there due some problems of management and communication from the local government, the lack of knowledge of tourism from the locals and the absence of a management model that leads the process from its roots to their success. Offer an efficient solution to these problems is one of the objectives followed with this project, giving a tool to the community so they can develop the model in a successful way. In addition, some of the benefits pursued are the diversification of the activity that help increasing the parish touristic offer, improve their services, their brand as a destiny and, furthermore, their sources of income and social relationships.
