El video arte como medio de concientización sobre el maltrato a perros y gatos en la sociedad actual.

Abstract

The degree project to be presented is called "Artistic representation of animal abuse in dogs and cats in today's society". This is aimed at the treatment received by pets by the community, demonstrating it through research, information gathering and monitoring of the locality. The problematic of the project seeks to reflect the acts of mistreatment that the animals have received from the environment in which they live, such as blows, fractures, scars and other traits of aggression that they may present. Various branches of art were involved in the research as part of the specifications established, including painting, photography and video art, as well as other fields such as psychology, veterinary medicine and history. The international and local artistic references allowed to clarify some important points about the execution of the proposal, each artist establishes different criteria and arguments that lead to a better expression within the concept of art. Within the fundamentation it was possible to clarify the behaviour of human beings and to see at what point their actions can affect their environment or history, affirming themselves as the greatest destroyer of the world, it is possible that these actions can damage the integrity of living beings. Dogs and cats are domestic animals, these pets require some special care to maintain a full life, however, in many cases the reality is different since they live in an environment full of aggressions, abandonment or even death. In some book references it is stated that even these pets are treated as ornaments in their time as puppies and once they become adults they tend to be just a problem that ends in disgrace. During a certain period, the definition of the work was debated, creating several approaches with a variety of contents that included the branches of art previously selected, where video art had greater acceptance for being a more innovative and adaptable awareness-raising proposal for the present day. A process of adaptation and recordings is presented with the interpretation of the authors with representative mascots, each scene was filmed and coordinated through scripts, story board, projection of the photographs captured in the localities, obtaining a very interesting video material. Subsequently, a process of sound research was carried out to improve the audiovisual production in order to attract the attention of the viewers. The editing of the videos made use of editing software, making it a great challenge for the authors of the project, given that they use somewhat professional tools that would be complicated without prior training. It should be noted that it was a great help in the development of the work, obtaining good results. Finally, with the completion of the edition, the video art work is presented through the digital platform known as YouTube and shared through social networks such as Facebook, the publication had a good opening to the public who issued their opinions and criteria based on the work.
