Estudio de impacto ambiental turístico de la playa san gregorio del cantón santa rosa provincia de el oro

Abstract

The objective of this work was to study the environmental impact of tourism on the San Gregorio beach in the Santa Rosa canton, province of El Oro. The beach is considered one of the best in the province of El Oro for its characteristic of being an island a few minutes from the city.This study was based on a diagnosis which allowed to know the current reality of this destination in terms of tourism environmental impact, and at the same time to obtain all the relevant information for making appropriate decisions, in order to achieve the sustainable tourism development of the community. Methodologically, the research subscribes to a field research, since the collection of information was taken directly from the reality where the facts occur and for this there was no manipulation or control of the variables, the technique of the survey was used and as an interview instrument, which was applied to the inhabitants and tourists who visit the area. Among the results obtained it was possible to quantify the main environmental impacts as an example we will mention the most significant which is the generation of garbage by the large number of tourists who visit the place, according to the survey conducted on holidays exceed 800 tourists in a day, which could be seen on the shores of the dirty beach and in a part of the micro plastic which is an environmental problem for marine life.
