Estudio de caso clínico de una paciente con artritis reumatoide y osteoporosis con posible diagnóstico de herpes zóster.

Abstract

A 70-year-old female patient presents with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis of 15 years of evolution, suffering from neuralgic-type pain and a rash on the neck and behind the ear with vesicles visible to the naked eye. She is being treated with tofacitinib and teriparatide as the main drugs. She was asked if she had varicella zoster and the answer was positive, thus suspecting a possible diagnosis of reactivation of herpes zoster. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by causing chronic inflammation in the joints, involving and altering the immune system, favoring the appearance of serious and opportunistic infections. Osteoporosis is a systemic disease of continuous progression characterized by loss of bone mass and deterioration of the microarchitecture that forms bone tissue.
